The Asia Division manages affairs of three Malawi missions in Beijing, New Delhi and Tokyo. The Directorate also interfaces with resident missions of China, India and Japan in Lilongwe.
Malawi Embassy in Tokyo, Japan The Malawi Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, mainly facilitates development cooperation, trade, investment, technical cooperation. The Mission supports the transfer of high level technology. It also serves as a base for Malawi’s management of bilateral relations with Australia, Brunei, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, South Korea, and other Pacific Island countries on a non-residential basis.
Malawi High Commission in New Delhi, India The Malawi High Commission in New Delhi, India, mainly facilitates development and technical cooperation; trade; investment; tourism; training and capacity building; transfer of technology and consular matters. The Mission also serves as a base for Malawi’s management of bilateral relations with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka on a non-residential basis.

The Mission also serves as a base for management of Malawi’s bilateral relations with Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, North Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam on a non-residential basis.
