The Multilateral Division fosters the Malawi government’s interest in the multilateral diplomacy through the United Nations headquartered in New York. Accordingly, the Division manages activities of the Malawi Permanent Mission to the United Nations and is accredited to all other USA based UN bodies including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
The United Nations has six main organs: the General Assembly; the Security Council (UNSC); the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC); the Trusteeship Council; and the Secretariat, all based in New York and the International Court of Justice located at The Hague, in the Netherlands.
