On Monday, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Malawi, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera attended to two other crucial events at the ongoing 77th United Nations General Assembly. He joined fellow world leaders and policymakers at the UN headquarters for the UN Transforming Education Summit hosted by the United Nations Secretary General António Guterres where he reaffirmed government’s support towards the new Global Compact on Education Financing. Thereafter, he joined a Green Climate Fund event where - in his capacity as chairperson of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) – he lobbied for more inclusive action in climate change management.
